Cuantas Razones para Celebrar? Tres!
Three little reasons to celebrate today...

1. Happy Birthday Massu! 22 is my favorite number, and Massu is my favorite person who resembles a pig. A very, very cute pig, that is. oink. For me, what's best about Massu is how he seems to perceive the world in a very distinct way. It's his clothes, his gestures, the little faces he makes while someone else is talking during an interview. Even his relationship with Tegoshi - seriously, they are aliens, I tell you.

2. Details of the Pacific Concert DVD! were posted on [info]news_jpop today. And, guess what, my fangirl prayers were not made in vain and Shige's HAPPY MUSIC is going to be on the DVD! And I didn't even have to sacrifice my youngest brother to the withered old gods of JE!
Comes out in... mid-August. I won't be buying because it's expensive and it's not like any of my money is going to reach any of the actual NEWS members.

3. I survived being a candy-throwing cormorant in the 4th of July parade today. And I also survived the two frantic days of building the float that occured just prior. Yeah, none of this was in my (non-exisitent) job description. But it was fun; I got to dress my boss up as a giant pimp puffin.

Hooray!

Lord, what fools these mortals be!
I have tomorrow off. I can stay up late. Teehee.

I recently realized that even though this is supposed to be a fangirl journal, there are very few fangirl facts about me yet.

Come to Alaska! There are beautiful shirtless deckhands!
There are a pair of charter fishing deckhands in the harbor who took a tip from JE and have got it doooowwwnn. You see, around here, the tourism industry is big, and a popular activity is taking tourists out on little boats into the bay to catch their own Giant Alaskan Fishie. It's called charter fishing. And normally you need one or two deckhands to help the captain and the passengers out and be entertaining. They get paid a pretty good base salary, but what really pays is the tips they get from satisfied passengers. Two deckhands that I saw today have apparently worked out a really good system for getting the tips.
First of all, they wear only orange rain pants and rubber boots and, of course, they're both gorgeously ripped. (yeah, like my icon)  As they lifted fish, muscles rippled and it was... mesmerizing. Second they were both friendly and seemed very happy and chatty. Thirdly, (since these two are graduated members of my highschool's infamous Free Love Club aka. Swim Club...) they acted totally *sparkle*ghei*sparkle* together.
Sound familiar?
After seeing this glorious example I realized just why I love Alaska and my fandom so much. Especially when they come together.

I Am a Cat?
No! I am Mother Nature's littlest bitch!
That's right, work started. As the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's most lowly underling that's basically what I am. This week is *paid!*orientation, so I'm basically getting an intensive crash course on Marine Biology and all the government and state organizations that run amuck around it.
But it's fun and it's got me interested. During my break I found myself in the library flipping through bird identification books. Everyone around me seems to really love their job - it's really inspiring in some ways.

I met with El Director and The Group in a secret meeting yesterday to plan a movie production for the summer. We've all been making films together for ages and now that we're all "of age" and out of the 'camp' organization we've decided to start an exclusive club filled with inappropriateness and insanity - hopefully in a bakery. I know this is complete babble to 99.999999% of the people on this planet, but the point I want to make is that all my film friends are fucking-whacked-cracked-insane and I haven't laughed so hard for a long time.

Oh, and I finally went to see Iron Man today! Awesssooooooooommmmeee! It was just what I was in the mood for. In the end, my friend who had actually read all the original early comics was the one who enjoyed it the least. Haha! Ignorance is bliss!

No fandom news... I haven't had the time to really search for something interesting these past few days, and it doesn't seem like a whole lot of interesting stuff is happening. I'm looking forward to the Tegomassu Heyx3 that's coming up. "TEGOSHI!!!!!!!!"

To end this nonsense properly, with more nonsense, I want to quote from the lyrics of the very song that I'm listening to right now:

Go and be a pony
In the pony show
Dance with other ponies
Get your fucking dope

I'm still thinking what that quote says about my life. Think on it.

Beam of Light! = Utter Glee? Yes!
I can now say I screamed and danced around a public place for the sake of a Japanese band now. (Before it was just silent and barely controlled flailing.) The post office actually. I got dressed and drove out there today just out of the hope that my ONE OK ROCK cd would be there. AND IT WAS! I giggled and sped terribly all the way home.

My family asked me why I was acting so freakishly, but I just danced upstairs and popped it reverently then continued to scream and bounce all around the room with the lyrics sheet while the whole album played.
... Then my brothers whined up the stairs that they were hungry and wanted dinner... So I bounced around the kitchen for a while, ate, told them to do all the chores and then bounced up here for incoherent glee round two.
And that's where I am right now.
Excuse me!

Disco Fever!... in Massu's Pants?
The Disco Handbook
lolz. why wasn't I around in the 80's? Found this link on BoingBoing and, really, it's priceless. Probably more entertaining if you actually were sentient in that epoca, I suppose.
It will be hilarious when young people in another thirty years or so start retro 00's throwbacks. If I have children then, they will probably dig up my old clothing and laugh at me, then steal it and wear it and I will laugh at them.

In other news... I was recently struck by the consistent awesomeness of Massu's pants. I have started a campaign to gather and prepare a massive pimp post of Massu and his Awesome-Pants. (<-- It's one word: "Awesomepants") Look forward to it.

Moobs and... Tenrecs?
So today I was going through the massive pile of boxes that contain the relics of my first 15 years of life. They've been taking up a good part of my room for over two years, so going through them was kind of a good idea. Sort, throw away, get distracted... A pattern like that.
I come across this old science worksheet from back in the Dark Days of Middle School and on it is a question that goes like: "What do you consider to be some of evolution's most remarkable achievements?" At first I'm like WTF is with this question?, but then my mind answers it anyway and the two things it immediately brings up are Yamapi's moobs and Tenrecs.

...Yamapi's moobs and... Tenrecs...

WTF, mind? But this is what my brain is telling me are evolution's two greatest achievements. Which am I more disturbed by; Yamapi's voluptuous manboobies, bizarre Madagascaran mammals, or the fact that the two of them appear in a single sentence formulated in regard to evolution?  I wonder if I need professional help?

That's all for tonight. Today's been a strange day.

LJ, Take Two, Starto!
Yeah, I've been abusing this account for almost a year now as a lurker. Now that school's out I thought that I'd like to pick it back up again, so I went, gave it a real layout, added more icons, a moodtheme, updated everything, and now it's starting to look decent. Yay.
This journal's going to be open to the public for now, mostly because I don't really have any friends. (LJ friends, that is...) and what's the point of writing something nobody will ever read? It might go semi-friends only after I've drawn enough people to me using my skillz and/or valuable contributions. (Which would be... lemme think... no wait, I'm still mostly just a lurker.)
Well, whatever. Let's see where this goes...

First Post
Hey everyone!
This livejournal was created to publish and share my graphics, fanfics, random thoughts and other lofty creative endeavors that I'm inspired to do. No, really, it's just a place to dump whatever shit I come up with late at night or when I'm bored or when I'm under the influence of alcohol or any combination of the above.
My interests include Japanese dramas, manga and the pursuit of hot guys, so that's what a lot of my Photoshopperings and writings will be dedicated to. But don't be surprised to see some random wea on Chile, Alaska, foreign exchange, indie music or cooking show up once and a while.
Yay! Seems like I have another blog to keep up now, ne? Gotta do a big post on another site today too. Kids, the internet is a dangerous place and sites like Myspace, Facebook, Livejoural and Blogger will suck you into a downward spiral of computer addiction, back problems and carpal tunnel syndrome. So be careful. hehehehe

Nos vemos! Cuideanse!
